As a biological concept, the term adult refers to a human or animal that is a person who has grown. They are defined as independent, self sufficient, and responsible. The word "major" may be applied to the person. The typical age of attaining the legal age of adulthood is 18 but the definition can vary based on laws, countries as well as the stage of psychological development.
